Cube est une petite assise imaginée par les designers polonaises du studio Monomoka. Elle se compose de 18 cubes réalisés au crochet empilés sur deux couches et perchés sur une petite structure de bois ciselé.

 

Sur ce projet les designers précisent :

"We are twin sisters, who practically from the time of our birth were of one mind in the development of our creativity and in our perception of the world.

We grew up in Poland during the bleak era of a decadent socialism, which made us determined to find different aesthetic values from the ones that surrounded us. Limited access to a "colourful" western world, and the desire to develop our own style, forced us into creative thinking.

As teenagers we acquired the skills to hand sew, crochet and knit. This helped us to create our own unique identity. Gradually our interest in fashion brought us closer to the different forms of art related to graphics, painting and design.

Ultimately, we found our natural direction in architectural studies, and both of us completed our Masters Degrees in Architecture in 1999 at the Wroclaw Polytechnic. Our architectural studies taught us about the relationship between form and function, and this was what interested us the most and defined us.

Searching for our own style eventually led us through projects in graphic arts, furniture design, set and interior design, which is what we do to this day. It is essential that our projects are individual and unique in character, merging a beautiful form with clean function.
