Lucas y Hernández Gil : Casaplata

Inspired by the still lifes of the artist Giorgio Morandi, the new studio Lucas y Hernández Gil, located in the heart of Seville (Spain), combines raw industrial decor and pop and colorful furniture. A futuristic rendering that values the simple and discreet cuisine offered in this restaurant.

If, in the region, interior design often highlights the history of built heritage, Casaplata is the opposite of this approach! The one-storey 100 square-foot restaurant thus takes its place in an avant-garde silver case similar to a monochrome backdrop. Between brutalist concrete on the floor, apparent piping and metallic details, everything is imagined so that the visitor's eyes are caught by the brightly colored furniture.

Indeed, the place is punctuated with tables and chairs combining structured geometric shapes and primary shades. Blue, yellow, red ... the vibrant tones of the furnishing elements energize the plain and sober ensemble. The industrial aesthetic is also softened by the circular structures that are found in cutouts of the walls, or declined in mirror, table or suspended ceiling. A graphic language reinforced by the use of perforated metal. To offset the coldness of such an aesthetic choice, planted vegetation and textile panels are placed on the ceiling to provide warmth to the space.

At night, Casaplata changes skin and wears a purple fluorescent veil and receives the guests under green lighting. A play of light that completely changes the atmosphere of the place also hosting DJs and turns into a dance floor, past a certain time.

A hybrid and original place adapted to every hour of the day.
