Freshly graduated from the Higher School of Art and Design in Saint-Étienne, Fabien Barrero experimenting with the use of pine resin with his collection "Pinus pinaster".
Of this research were born five objects taking advantage of the properties of this material: a wall outlet, the light "Blast", a jug, a bell and cheese plates and support fruit.
Fabien Barrero says:
"It is an exploration of material pine resin, which in aboutis production of five objects, each taking advantage of the properties of matter. Willingness behind this research is to develop alternatives to contaminants in our environments ( natural and social). In an open mind, and not wishing to adopt a regressive attitude, I highlights the characteristics and identity of a raw material and work on its place in contemporary society [...] . Interrogation of this material, using historical and chemical research has been questioning a premise of a raw material. These are states and compounds of this element that pushed me to développercinq proposals, five products that are each, the result of a unique behavior of the resin. This identity of its own, the challenge of the project, further exploration opportunities or potential material was reasoning on issues of eco-designs non-contamination of our natural and social enviromments The process developed for the production of proposals objects gives a place valued non-mastery and unexpected.. imperfection as personal and aesthetic dimension "
