Collectif Parenthèse : Makein Mouchkil

On the occasion of the first Moroccan edition of the biennale of architectureAgora, focused on the "between-two" separating Rabat and Salé, the young French collective Parenthèse joins the School of Architecture of the International University of Rabat (UIR) to propose a set of wooden structures as playful as pedagogical.

Through three urban incursions, the Makein Mouchkil workshop questions the inhabitants about their perception of their environment, their relation to land and water, as well as about the links between these two cities of Morocco, located on both sides. banks of the Bouregreg river.

Rabat side, the first installation, overlooking the watercourse, consists of a wooden rest area consisting of slanted seats capped by a clairvoie cleats filtering the sunlight. A place dedicated to relaxation, which also creates a symbolic advance of the city to its neighbor Salé. It also allows to admire a second intervention of the Collective Parenthesis: a work consisting of simple wooden sticks arranged in fan on concrete fluvial blocks.

But the highlight of the show lies in a structure consisting of scaffolding and a wooden stage, installed under the bridge connecting the two cities. The group, aptly named "Traits d'Unions", is dedicated to hosting various events: conferences, workshops, debates, etc. A sober and convivial meeting space, like the achievements of the Parisian collective.
