Ana Rocha Architecture : Slim Fit

When minimalism comes to the rescue of urban densification. In Almere Poort, Ana Rocha Architecture's Slim Fit consists of a micro-residential concept that allows for the installation of a three-level house on a floor area of only 16 square meters, ie two parking spaces!

Winner of the Building Expo Tiny Housing contest organized in 2016 by the municipality of Almere (Netherlands), the Slim Fit wants to be the first of a long line of mini-houses, thought for people wishing to live in a single dwelling and functional, without abandoning their comfort.
On three levels and 50 square meters of floor area, the building in triple orientation and all height is organized in response to the three basic functions of everyday life: to feed, entertain and rest. The ground floor houses kitchen and dining room, the first floor the living room, and above it the sleeping area and its adjoining bathroom. All these overlapping spaces are connected by a vertical circulation column with integrated shelves made of pine wood.

To fight against the sensation of smallness or even confinement, large openings have generously been positioned on three of the four facades of the house. They allow ventilation and natural lighting of the place, dressed with panels and furniture made of birch plywood.

Like what, to occupy in town center a comfortable individual housing, and little greedy in surface, is still possible!
