Djuric Tardio Architectes : Maison Eco-Durable

At Antony in the Paris suburbs, the agency Djuric Tardio Architects recently delivered this house built from a prefabricated system of wood panels. Respecting existing templates in this residential area, the project uses solar gain, views, and plot to create living spaces and outdoor areas rich of uses and practices, like those roofs that turn in hanging garden.

On this project, the agency Djuric Tardio Architects says:

"This residential area of Anthony was born of" sprawl. "He leaves a legacy difficult to reinterpret and redefine according to contemporary criteria. We had in mind, not to redraw the urban environment but that this house can contribute to a conversion of this district. for this, we worked on sustainability, flexibility and urban integration.

These Districts are also subject to strong rules of urban planning and architecture often outdated, both heterogeneous and homogeneous.

Delays and the urban situation and our desire to continue and refine our research on wood constructions, led us to propose a type of constructive system, still little diffused in urban areas and usually reserved for individual houses in less dense sites laminated structural panels.

Urban rules and context, very typical, we have suggested the template, which has been a true asset to the project.

Up there, the shape of the roof / pergola, which looks like an unfinished roof, has a specific function. On the one hand, to resume the archetypal context inserting the project in its environment without disrupting the urban rhythm, secondly, to oppose the classic closed roof which often becomes an attic, fourretout or wasted space.

We lived in this volume leaving it open and turning it into a vegetated terrace, intimate and sunny. The choice of plants proposed by the landscape, grasses and plants vine fruit (kiwi, squash, grapes) on the pergola, allow owners to enjoy a vegetable garden, a vegetable garden suspended.

The program, a house for a blended family, demanded a modular and flexible design in the development.

The response was two separate and overlapping areas, currently made independent, but, with very little modification, can be a single space.

The walls of the skylight which cross the floor to illuminate the DRC, can be removed to become guardrails and allow a visual connection between the two floors.

The staircase is positioned in the central grid services, today with a common entrance to both access and tomorrow could be open on the day spaces.

Giant sliding walls on each floor divided into two spaces days, in order to present repartition areas by creating an office / library on the ground floor and a cinema upstairs area, and tomorrow, to partition the space according to use.

A credenza cabinet-on wheel slip between the kitchen and the terrace on the ground floor, thereby moving the lunch area outside for sunny days.

All the layout was designed with this in mind to flexibility and adaptation of living space, which affects everyday, seasons (summer space continues outside and is more open and wide and winter more gathered around the fireplace) and in the long-term, adapting to the lifestyles of owners.

Completely built in wood panels placed on a pedestal, the soils were very bad, is a completely prefabricated work in the workshop and delivered to the site and mounted in just fifteen days.

This is the building system in Finnish wood panels from cooperatives of small private forest owners sustainably managed.

Pre-cut panels and supplemented by the insulation of wood fiber and siding without treatment, arrived at almost finished construction site, reducing pollution to a minimum, the site is located in a dense suburban fabric.

The facades were mounted along the floors, also wooden panels.

The wooden building has the advantage with a highly efficient external insulation system that can completely eliminate thermal bridges to make the high-performance building. Underfloor heating Low temperature gas fired, becomes almost superfluous.

The glazed surfaces of double glazed argon + patios and facades South, deliberately oversized, capture the sun in winter and are sheltered by a canopy and a pergola in the summer, allowing for their performance and aperture size, easily master solar gain and air flow as needed, without making necessary a conditioning or heating heavy use.

The main street facade, outside the rooms in the north, is a composition of great openings glazed sashes and shutters simple stainless steel mirror without glasses. vegetation reflections and movement of these components make steel mirrors the changing facade. The room ventilation is regulated by the openings of the shutters, and the contribution of light through glass surfaces.

The rainwater harvesting allows watering the garden and planters allow homeowners the cultivation of aromatic plants and vegetable garden without overconsumption of water. "
