It is in one of these narrow and quirky plots, that the Japanese studio Chop + Archi has managed to install a haven for a couple and their child, far from prying eyes.

12.12.17  ABLM architects: École Villares de la Reina

In the village of Villares de la Reina (Spain), whose landscape has been strongly impacted by the industrialization of the last ten years, the Spanish architects of the agency ABLM arquitectos realize a sparkling elementary school. Bardé aluminum, the first floor of the establishment seems to melt into the sky that reflects.

11.12.17  Laura Ortín Arquitectura: The Beach House

While the season is snow covered chalets, the Spanish agency Laura Ortín Arquitectura delivers the elevation of a seaside house in La Torre de la Horadada, in southern Spain. With its intriguing volume of smooth concrete protruding, the construction steals the show to its neighbors, typical representatives of the seaside architecture of the 1970 years.

11.12.17  Rafael de Cárdenas: Pool House

An extension of an early 19th century mansion lost in the English countryside, a rectangular pavilion designed by the New York architect Rafael de Cárdenas conceals a swimming pool. A pair of helicoidal slides gives grace and originality to this place characterized by its tranquility.

08.12.17  MVRDV et ADEPT : House

In Copenhagen (Denmark), the Dutch architectural studio MVRDV and the Danish agency ADEPT have designed a huge playground and intergenerational sport: the House. Between labyrinths, slides, climbing walls and race tracks, 4 000's square public building is an ode to joie de vivre.

07.12.17  Paul Laurendeau Workshop: Cogeco Amphitheater

In the city of Trois-Rivières (Canada), on a former brownfield located at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River and the Saint-Maurice River, is the Cogeco Amphitheater. The architects of the Atelier Paul Laurendeau deliver an iconic building with an impressive 7 200 aerial roof, while offering a superb view to the spectators.

Who could believe that this mysterious parallelepiped adorned with gold enthroned in the middle of a meadow of the commune of Olemps (12) conceals in fact a hall and a library? And yet! This simple and contemporary creation, conceived by the French of CoCo Architecture, enhances the cultural programming of this village of Occitanie.

05.12.17  SLA: Maersk Tower / SUND Nature Park

Designed by the Danish architect CF Møller in 2016, the forecourt of the Mærsk Tower of the University of Copenhagen is adorned with greenery thanks to the intervention of the local planning and landscaping agency SLA. The project is divided into two parts: the construction of a large park, the SUND, at the foot of the tower and the greening of the flat roofs of the building at the bottom. A landscaping project that earned its designers to receive the Scandinavian Green Roof Award.

In the heart of a Kent meadow (England), funny turrets grip. Designed by the architects James Macdonald Wright and Niall Maxwell, they belong to a house housing three generations of the same family who diverts the codes of oast houses, vernacular constructions of the south-west of the country.
