Brenac+Gonzalez & Associés : RPA Yersin

Triangular, bordered by the Avenue of the Porte d'Ivry and Charles Régaud, Yersin the island hosts a hostel for the elderly and a day hospital for Alzheimer's patients.

In the first program, the focus was on cohabitation between sharing sites, community life (generous living rooms, dining rooms with large terraces, substantial berries), and fallback sites, privacy ( single rooms with balconies covered with wood and closed with glass panels, protection against pollution of the city).
Alzheimer The center was designed, meanwhile, as a shelter and hospitality that helps break the isolation of families and patients. The structure of space is built by many sensory markings with color, lights, a path, a therapeutic garden are so many landmarks as a reduction in city.
From the outside, the building is identified by the rawness of his "concrete corten" self-compacting. In appearance very sculptural, it evokes a strong chiseled; the volume is initially marked by a massive pedestal placed in the alignment of streets and its geometry varies, the block rises to form the main body. Volumetric swaying back the building inwards, thus facilitating the integration of HBM relatives. At the corner, finally refines profile to strengthen its slenderness and monumentality of the intersection. This composition is completed to the west by generous landscaped terraces and a roof garden.
